Winner, hearts and flag

So sorry to keep you waiting but I’ve been taking advantage of some fine weather to get into the garden and prepare the veg beds for the new growing season.

Aside from gardening and chasing dust bunnies around, I have been hooking. A little late and inspired as always by blolgand I have made hearts for a bathroom garland which I have snuck in while my husband is away this week

. 

I really love them but they need more stuff dangling from them. As you can see there is far too much wall on show. I got the pattern from June Gilbanks website. I think the shape is lovely.

 

I have also made this cushion. Now I really love this one. It was easy to make and quite quick too. I especially like the finish on the cushion as it looks professional (not blowing my own trumpet, the pattern is very profesh) The pattern can be purchased  from The Royal Sisters £3.78. I saw it a while ago but did nothing until I saw Amanda had made one and I had a serious case of the wanties.

I do like my union flags. It was while I was doing this that I made the square for Sibol.  I fancy making one in lots of bonny colours or maybe shades of grey. Hmmm

Hearts for hearts sake

I’m not a fan of V day but I do like hearts around my home and I have been making. This project could be a good one to do with children. Either by hand sewing or even gluing.

Cut out hearts from paper, 2 of each size .

Lay one heart on the other and sew  up the middle don't stop keep your thread continuous   I varied the size of my hearts but I guess it would look lovely all one size.

Now fold each heart along the sewing line. Display with pride.

You may note that I have embossed my paper and also die cut them. I got a swanky tool for crimbo that does all this for me. Its a bit like a mangle (as my Dad put it) but its not necessary. I think that I’d like to add beads or something extra, maybe glitter.

 

I have also had a go at making these from the wonderful world of colour that is Elizabeth Cat. Elizabeth how on earth did you know!! Whilst making my spot blanket I have had multicoloured ends and saved them up. Yep weird I know. This coupled with the recent purchase of a pom pom maker. Again weird and I know how easy they are to make but this one makes them heart shaped! Too cute, or so I thought. I made one, got cocky and then had 4 disasters so my bits tin filled instantly.

If anyone has had any joy with the little bleepers can I have some help, I am clearly special needs.

Must do better

I have been wanting nay trying to share what I do craftwise but failing horribly. You see its knowing where to start as I want to include things that I have done in the past (there is quite alot) All of this has confused me into not knowing where to begin. So ignoring Julie Andrews, I will not start at the very begining but do the opposite and start with what I have on the go. my WIP (work in progress) if you like.

This is the project I am most excited about even after 4 weeks. I found another blog and definately liked what I saw it was the inspirational attic24 I love everything avbout this blog and only hope that I am half so entertaining
