No opportunity was missed for patriotism.

We had a feast and watched on tv.

The things in paper were asparagus frittata cooked in prosciutto ham cases. Mum made them from this recipe in good food magazine. Highly recommended to accompany fizz. We also had coronation chicken in lettuce cups, pork pie, quiche and sausage rolls. I stopped short of sandwiches but we were after traditional British party

food

Here is the fridge “ before”. Its nothing like that now.

Five star bank holiday

No really I’m not showing off. We decided very last minute to go and stay with Mum and Dad for one night. We can take the dog as its only 30mins away and they have a wonderful place with a huge garden.

These were taken on Sunday needless to say. Warm and sunny so we had a barbe before we headed home. Check out the wisteria. Amazing. I am trying to think where I could put one.

I have also been messing with the macro setting, hum needs work. The long weekend is over now and I have my pre teen still in pyjamas watching dr who to contend with (time of typing 10.08) So far today we have had no less than 3 early visits. No. 1 Postie bringing me this

IMG_1407IMG_1419So no heartache there but for the fact he came at 7.50 . Last week EB had a 25% off sale to commemorate 25 years in business so I HAD to buy something, it would have been rude not to. Do you see how its been inspected by Joyce? Thanks Joyce.
Anyway N02 was Poorly neighbour I told you about last time with a pressie for me!!! Lovely Molten Brown lippy. She had set herself the task of walking the furthest she has walked in ages and at the end of the walk was MB so in she hopped and got my lippy. I apparently motivated the whole thing supported by you lovely people and your kind wishes and thoughts. She has also had a swim (needed to sleep for a day after that one) so for now things look good. She will probably overdo it but then that's what us 40ish women are used to doing.

Finally No. 3 was postie with the regular mail which has so worried DS that he has gone to get dressed before anyone else turns up.

Thank you for all your lovely comments and for visiting. I have friends from all continents (except Antarctica) and that makes me so happy thank you my friends this means the world to me.

Birthdays

We are having a mad time of it this week and there seems to be no let up. I have been full on at my return to teaching course in Leeds and at my placement school. Today has been my first at home day. So what have I been up to? Well a dear friend is unwell and celebrating her birthday tomorrow so I made a few of these
  cakes and candles      cupcake
All pink and girly. Hope she likes them. I have also made this small token to house a lip balm. As always from ravelry and for free no less. I urge my hooky chums to have a go as they make in seconds and are useful as they can be made to attach to a key ring. Here is the link

The DH is also birthdaying on Saturday and I have been promised a closed kitchen with lots of eating out. Can’t wait. I will let you know how it goes. Thomas is off tomorrow on a training day (I know he only got back on Monday) so we are off getting secret things.
I may well join you briefly tomorrow as its St Georges day and we like to get flaggy here in Lou land. Can I leave you with this? Not a summer but the hope of one.

Edited to say:
BTW I am always on the look out for crochet gift ideas for the men in my life. What ides do you have? Please share them you clever bunch. xxLLL

I had a busy day today. I got up and the sun was shining so I thought SPUDS. Yep the potatoes needed planting and I am a fair weather kind of Gal so I was out there (not early)  with my jogging pants, (not for jogging, let me tell you there are 2 reasons why I don’t jog. The left one and the right one) and my hair in a (tiny) pony tail much to Thomas’ giggles. No makeup, V V attractive!! What helped was 2 things. My ipod (does that amaze you?) Lots of petshop boys!! And Cath Kidston gardening gloves, a Christmas present from a dear friend.

I had a warm bath after, wary of not being able to move tomorrow!!!!!!!! Anyhoo I am going to leave you all with a challenge. I was thinking the other day about the fact that I like to crochet on the deck come the nice weather. That is about the most exotic it gets for me, outside. I hook on holiday, no way I can go 2 weeks without it. Anyway here is the challenge. I want to know the most unusual place where you have played hooky (knitters welcome too) and please let me know. I will believe anything !!!!! If you can blog it and send me the link all the better. I am going to take a hook and camera wherever I go this weekend, for a bit of fun, and see what we can come up with. Early I know but I have wine right now, have an awesome weekend and get hooking all over the place. XXX L
